Young people in summer in Catalunya

·Holidays: Summer holidays are the most important period of the year. During summer, people go to the beach, the swimming pool or simply relax on the sofa with a soft drink. In Catalunya, on June 19th, we finish school and, finally, we can enjoy the sun. But when people fail some subjects, they need to re-sit the subjet with an exam. Normally, this exam is the next week after finishing the lessons.

·The beach: Normally, in Catalunya, the swimming pool is full and ,consequently, we decide to go to the beach because… IT’S FREE!! In our beaches there’re a lot of different people:

·Surfers: They come to the beach to practise surfing and windsurfing, but in Barcelona, there aren’t good waves and ,consequently, there aren’t a lot of surfers.

·Nudists: Nudists have got their own beach, because some people don’t like to see the naked bodies of the people.

·Grandparents: They are the oldest people in the beach. They like to getting a suntan (women), and men like to staying in the beach under the beach umbrella and playing cards, domino or chess with their friends.

·Young people: The like chatting with other people and playing badminton or football, they’re a little bit loud, but are good people.

·Barcelona: Barcelona is full of tourists in summer, the beach and the swimmingpool specially. In summer, it is a very beautiful city because there are a lot of people, it’s sunny, but sometimes it is very stressful. Normally, young people go away from the city, but some people decide to stay in the city on holidays.

·Summer camps: In Catalunya, some young people go to summer camps. In this sites, people do different activities, like games, excursions,etc… There are different types of camps: English camps, Sports camps… These activities last for two months aproximately, and boys and girls about 12-17 years old participate in it.

·Boy scouts: Boy scouts are a group of young people. They do different excurions along the year but the most important is in summer. This excursion is about two weeks and normally is in a lake or in a site with water. In this sort of club, people meet other people and it’s fun, you can go to sites and make friends .

To sum up, summer is a good season for everyone: kids, young people, grand parents…

Pocket-money

With the inquiries that we made to our classmates, we can see that most of them have got around 5 or 10€ per week or month as pocket-money. It depends on the parents.

The pocket-money that they receive is to be invested on their hobbies (games, to buy clothes…) and the parents think that this money has to cover their expenses.

In the case that the young people don’t have any money left, the parents give a little part of the next pocket-money.

In most of the inquiries people think that their pocket-money is enough and if you compare their pocket-money with that of the other people that don’t have any money, they think that they are lucky for it but unfortunately many people don’t agree with the amount of money they get.

Social groups

- Posh:

This group is from the high class. This kind of group stands out for their clothes, hairstyle and their form to talk. They always wear expensive and design clothes. Their hairstyle is peculiar because they have got different styles for example, forelock, combs… A few of this type of persons, feel more important than the rest of the people. They play to tennis, paddle, golf… The posh people listen different types of music (pop, tektonik…)

- Gothic:

They love the darkness and always wear dark clothes. The people say that they work with dead people, spirits… They like the basements, and dark places. Their hairstyle is original. They listen rock and punk music.

- Rappers:

This kind of group has got an originals regards. Their type of gown consists to wear baggy trousers, sportive shoes and all of type of baggy shirts with some draws. The rappers have got an earring with a diamante. They like to do grafits and listen to rap and hip-hop music.

- Frikies:

They’re persons that love the world of manga, draws, video games,.. Their favourite music are the sound tracks of the films and video games that they play. Their clothes are normal, aren’t special.

- Macarras:

They’re brusque people that like to fight. The characteristic thing in their complements is that they wear a lot of gold. The macarras have a vulgar style when they talk. The type of music that they listen is the flamenco.

- Emos:

This word comes from “emotional’’ and is used for the name of a group. Emo people are similar to gothics because they like the darkness, wear dark clothes,... Their hairstyle , in the majority of the cases, hide a part of the face. Their favorite type of music is screamo, post-hardcore, alternative rock,...

About friends...

●Most people think that friends can have some influence on the others because at some moment some of them have been influenced. Some think that their parents don’t say anything about their children’s friends. ●People say that if you find bad friends the best for you is to finish the relationship. Some of them affirm that they do not allow other people to influence them, but there are exceptions because they’re afraid of being alone… ●Teenagers have different ideas about friendship but at the end everyone thinks that it is something that you must deserve.

Social Groups

Nowadays there have appeared different social groups that were in fashionable some years ago. The most part of the social groups have their origin in the last century. These groups were created by people who liked the same things ( music, types of clothes) and have the same rules and habits. Usually, these groups don’t have any relation with a social class. Every group has something that characterizes them ( clothes, hairstyle,…) The most popular ones are: ●Posh ●Gothic ●Skaters / Riders ●Freakys ●Emo ●Garrulos
